We are the students of a business school, Mathura road Delhi
. We took admission in MBA (hospital management) in July batch (2008-2010). At the time of admission we were told that the hospital management course is a regular degree course, affiliated to bharthiar University. But when we got our admission letter, the university we were enrolled in was EIILM (eastern institute of integrated learning and management)Sikkim. When we asked about the change in university, they said there was some course legality issue from bharthiar university, so the college will now provide degree from EIILM university. When we received our admit cards for first semester exams, some suspicion arose in our mind because the admit cards were not anything like the one which university issues.
On the ground of suspicion we filed a RTI and from it, we came to know that the degree we are being provide with is fake because EIILM is not authorized by both, university grant commission and by distance education council to run any course off campus within its state or outside the state. Which concluded that our course is neither regular nor distance learning.
When we approached the college authorities regarding this matter they said that there is nothing wrong in it but if still you students have some problem they can shift the course to Punjab technical university, which too make fool of the students by enrolling them in regular course and provide them the distance learning degree.
They even said that college is not answerable for the fraud done to all students and this business school is just a study centre of its own kind and do not hold any responsibility of the university, even if the university is fake. when we demanded our fee refund of Rs 1,85000/-per head which every student have paid till now ,college said that you can take back only your university fee of Rs 3750/- out of Rs 1,85000/- that too from university directly.
Even the general MBA students are being misguided and have been promised of the regular MBA degree but the truth is that the degree they are getting is a distance learning degree from Punjab technical university for which they are charging a whooping amount of Rs 4,00,000 to 8,00,000/-.but the students can not raise their voice as they have already paid the amount.
As you can clearly see how the colleges are playing with the future of the students just for the sake of money and moreover they are not counting themselves morally responsible for spoiling the career of the students.
So its our hearty plea to all the future MBA and BBA students that please enquire about the college and university thoroughly before taking admission in any course and do demand the recognition letter given to the college by the university, which states that university is providing the authority to the college to run the course.
Moreover do check it very carefully that college is not blinding you for distance learning degree in the name of regular degree. because if we have to take the distance education degree we can directly take it from the university for a meager amount of Rs 4000 to 5000/-per year or for the whole course, for that we don’t need to pay Rs 4 lacs to 8 lacs/-to the so called study centers.
And do keep yourself updated by the UGC notifications, out of which the recent one stated that the so called study centers of the various Universities are only meant for guiding and counseling the students about the courses the university is providing. They are not meant for providing admissions to the courses, so please do not take admission in these study centers or knowledge hubs and prevent your academic year and your parent’s hard earned money from going waste.
This information is provided in the interest of the future students willing to make their careers in MBA/BBA etc. We don’t want that others should suffer what we have suffered. If you know such institutions please don’t forget and fear to disclose them. It would definitely save the career and money of the students in coming time.
